Tom Scharpling continues his impressive run of top-notch music videos by writing and directing the new clip for Ben Gibbard's "Teardrop Windows," a single from the Death Cab for Cutie frontman's debut solo record, Former Lives. In the clip, Gibbard undergoes a massive image overhaul at the request of an overzealous executive (played by comedian Kurt Braunohler), who instructs the musician to become a record-sellin' bad boy. However, despite his best efforts to get drunk and rob a building, ink himself with a "Thug for Life" tattoo, and become a reality show imbecile, Gibbard can't stop being nice and normal. And normal's definitely not a bad thing by comparison.
