Britney Spears and Jason Trawick Split

Britney Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick have broken up and called off their engagement, Us Weekly reports. The couple had been together for three years and became engaged in December 2011.

Trawick had been Spears' manager from 2008 until early 2012, when he stepped down from the position to focus on their relationship. In April 2012, Trawick petitioned a court to become Spears' co-conservator, sharing legal control over the singer's personal matters with her father, Jamie Spears. Fox News reports that Trawick has now resigned from the conservatorship.

"I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends," Spears said in a statement.

The 31-year-old singer disclosed the end of her engagement just hours after announcing that she would be leaving The X Factor after just one season as a judge. "Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much!" Spears said of the young contestants she had mentored. "I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."
