    Celine Dion cancels Vegas shows due to virus

    LAS VEGAS (AP) — Singer Celine Dion has canceled several upcoming concerts in Las Vegas because of a virus.

    Caesars Palace officials say her doctor advised her to rest for a week to recover from the virus, which caused an inflammation of her vocal cords. Shows scheduled for Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday were canceled at the resort's Colosseum.

    Her next scheduled concert there is March 3.

    Dion, in a statement, said she doesn't "like to let people down," and she feels terrible about not being able to perform at the shows. Refunds will be given to people who bought tickets.

    Caesars spent $95 million to build the Colosseum for Dion in 2003, complete with a humidifier to protect her voice

      I've been a fan of Celine since the early 90's and still listen to her music today, this woman is never in the tabloids for drug abuse, marriage problems, the list goes on and on for most singers/celebs. Shes come along way from where and how she was raised, someone who acutally have values and morals and does NOT have to show her #$%$ and #$%$ to get attention and tickets sold to her show. She uses what god gave her cl#$%$ and a powerful voice, when people purchase her tickets they want to be intertained not flashed....I love ya Celine and maybe when I get some money some day I'll be able to go to Vegas for a show!!

        Everybody has their own opinion. I did enjoy her music and singing and felt that she was a step above the rest until the Katrina incident in New Orleans, where she got up there and made a fool of herself. It truly showed her ignorance. I wish all "those poor people" would have raided her house. As far as I am concerned, if she got a virus that destroyed her vocal chords it would be a God-send to say the least.

      I've been lucky enough to see Celine in concert 3 times and meet her twice -- including her 31st birthday in Atlantic City! She's a wonderful person and a truly terrific singer! I hope she gets well soon and doesn't get her babies sick!

      One of the greatest shows I have seen is the Celine Dion Concert. The Dancers, the sets and her charismatic presence was very inspiring. The cost $175.00, worth every penny, after the show I put a $5 dollar chip on Red 7 at roulette and won. It paid for my show, so I saw her for free. A Great Evening.

      Celine has an incredible work ethic - just look at how many albums she's recorded since she started in the 80s with French recordings. After the first Vegas series ran for several years, she went on a world tour. The woman obviously enjoys performing and has an amazing gift - she's hardly a diva. Get well soon.

      Celine has always been one of my favorite singers. She is a great person inside and out. She is down to earth and doesn't take drugs like many other performers. She is the best! Get well soon Celine. We need more performers like Celine Dion.
