Dodge Ram pays tribute to the farmer in serious Super Bowl ad [Video]

Super Bowl ads are a melting pot. Amid the cringe worthy close-up make-out shots and barely-there skivvy spots in 2013's crop, comes a super serious commercial for Dodge trucks. The commercial pays ode to the farmer via a classic monologue, and it starts with this touching tagline: "And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God made a farmer."

The ad is narrated via a classic 1978 speech by the late radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, and features a series of stills of farmers that look straight out of Norman Rockwell's portfolio. And it may just be the big winner of the night. (No offense to the Super Bowl XLVII champions.)

Meanwhile, if you haven't thanked a farmer lately, you may want to after watching this strikingly beautiful ad.
