What happens when Australian indie rocker Adam Harding joins forces with indie-rock heavyweights like Lou Barlow, the Melvins' Dale Crover, Best Coast's Bobb Bruno and others? You get Dumb Numbers, who have just released their self-titled debut.
The band's intense new video, "Redrum," was directed by former Jesus Lizard frontman David Yow, who tells Rolling Stone, "I love this song and was tickled pink when Adam asked that I do a stupid video for it . . . For the most part, you get an adorable little girl who runs at a very unusual gait, some astounding slow motion footage, red shit, [the] jungle and the long black hair of Adam Harding. The story tells itself."
According to Harding, the song – which boasts the blistering guitar work of Magic Dirt's Daniel Herring – was tracked in just one take at Head Gap Studios in Melbourne, Australia. As for Yow's efforts on the video, Dumb Numbers' main man says, "I love his beautiful mind."This article originally appeared on Rolling Stone: Dumb Numbers' Story 'Tells Itself' in 'Redrum' – Premiere
