In a recent interview with USA Today, Eddie Van Halen explained why Van Halen postponed all their summer tour dates following their June 26th show in New Orleans. "We bit off more than we could chew. This record [the recently released A Different Kind Of Truth] took a lot out of us," says the guitarist. "And we went on tour earlier than we wanted to so we could play Madison Square Garden [before a renovation], and that threw the schedule out of whack."
Last month singer David Lee Roth expressed similar sentiments in a video, saying, "We bit off way more than we could chew when it came to scheduling. The band is winning, but our schedule has been sidelined for unnecessary roughness."
Eddie diffused rumors of inter-band turmoil, clarifying that no feud led to the tour's postponement. The guitarist also revealed the band will visit Japan in November and has "something special" tentatively planned for next year.
