NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Fun? Turns out the Grammy Awards nominations special is a blast for fun.

The indie pop band had three nominations midway through the live telecast Wednesday night and also was scheduled to perform. They were nominated for best new artist, record of the year for "We Are Young" and best pop vocal album for "Some Nights." Other best new artist nominees were Frank Ocean, who now has two major nominations, The Lumineers and country artist Hunter Hayes, who displayed his talent by performing snippets of each pop vocal album nominees' hits.

Kelly Clarkson also had two nominations announced at the top of the Grammy's nominations concert, aired live from Nashville for the first time. Fun. was scheduled to perform, following fellow nominees Maroon 5 and The Who.
