It was a good year for Guetta, who slipped past Flo Rida and Eminem to head Spotify's ranking of the most-streamed male artists. Rihanna topped the women's list, besting Nicki Minaj and Adele; while Coldplay was the most-streamed band.

Mumford & Sons' Babel garnered the most streams for a newly released album in 2012, racking up more than 8 million in a single week. And English boy band One Direction surpassed 100 million streams.
