In the Hot Seat: What to watch (or not) on TV talk shows the week of February 4

    Monday, February 4

Watch: It's casseroles week on Rachael Ray, which could turn into a horror movie, but we're kind of into horror movies. And it's Elvis-impersonators week on "Letterman," apparently, and with NJ Governor Chris Christie also hitting Dave's show tonight, we hope tonight's tribute is to younger Elvis, or it's going to get kind of crowded on the couch. It's going to get hilarious on "Kimmel" with Melissa "Bridesmaids" McCarthy and Mark "The League" Duplass; it could get fraught when Whoopi Goldberg's daughter Alex co-hosts on "The View." And might a sing-off break out between Michael Bolton and Hugh Jackman on "Leno"?

Skip: Not too much skippable here, unless you dislike Zooey Deschanel ("Craig Ferguson") or Super Bowl coverage (everywhere, basically).

    Tuesday, February 5

Watch: Scientology-tell-all fans won't want to miss Jenna Miscavige Hill promoting "Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology." Martha Stewart makes her "The Chew" debut, and Fallon scores a sweet random guest combo with Justin Bieber and Naomi Campbell. (Let's hope Jimmy confiscates her phone.) And the always delightful Julie Andrews will be feeling pretty on "The Colbert Report."

Skip: Celebrity trainer Tracey Anderson is discussing Kim Kardashian's pregnancy workout on "Good Morning America." Enough already.

    Wednesday, February 6

Watch: It's underrated supporting actress day on "Ellen" with Melissa McCarthy (she's a lead now, but still) and Jacki Weaver. Conan has a somewhat random guest combo with comedian Jeff Ross and Rooney "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" Mara. And Letterman pairs the midweek Elvis with Joel McHale of "Community."

Skip: We like Perez Hilton online, but he can be a bit much in person, and he's on "The Talk" today. And for some reason "The Chew" is doing a whole segment on the Caesar's Palace buffet in Vegas?

    Thursday, February 7

Watch: Dr. Phil visits Jimmy Kimmel, possibly to talk about Ronaiah Tuiasosopo some more. "The Chew" is all about chocolate today, including Hubert Keller's chocolate soufflé, and it's dueling divas on "Good Morning America" with Toni Braxton and Rachel Zoe. (Okay, they're probably not going to duel, but it's a lot of ego in one studio.) Chris Tucker and Brian Posehn bring the hilare on "Conan."

Skip: The "Double Divas" of Lifetime advise the menfolk on picking out Valentine's lingerie for their ladies. Let us save you some time: don't.

    Friday, February 8

Watch: Grammy host LL Cool J hits "The Talk," while Cesar "The Dog Whisperer" Millan sets Sherri Shepherd and her husband straight on their dog's behavior on "The View." We're eager to see how Mariah Carey manages the Elvis du jour on "Letterman." And it's a battle of the one-word-show-name divas with Madeleine Stowe ("Revenge") and Jennifer Hudson ("Smash") on "Live With Kelly & Michael."

Skip: If you've heard enough about Bethenny Frankel and/or her nutso divorce, you'll want to skip "GMA."

Get ready for the Grammys with this flashback to the 2005 awards from "Entertainment Tonight":
