Joe Perry: Aerosmith Are 'Getting Along Better Than Ever'

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry sought to quell rumors that the band was squabbling again in a recent chat with Eddie Trunk on his Sirius/XM show Eddie Trunk Live. "It must have been a slow news week," Perry joked, when asked about a recent item in the New York Post that said band members were "barely speaking" to each other.

"We were wondering, 'Who's saying this?' and 'Why are they saying this?' It's totally wrong and irrelevant," Perry went on. "The least they could have done was get [the facts] right." Perry said the Post talked to people who haven't been connected with Aerosmith for a decade or more, adding, "The band is getting along better than ever. We were thinking about [releasing a statement], but then why even validate it by even answering."

Having just released their latest record, Music From Another Dimension, Aerosmith are also finishing up their North American tour with Cheap Trick.

"No matter what goes on" behind the scenes, Perry added, "we do everything and put aside everything for the fans. We give everything up for the audience."

Perry also noted that following the tour, he's planning to keep working on his book and also some "solo stuff."
