Lily Allen gave birth to a baby girl named Marnie Tuesday night, The Sun reports. The English pop singer was said to be excited that the baby shares a birthday with Elvis Presley and David Bowie. Allen, who now goes by her married name, Cooper, thanked fans on Twitter yesterday, writing, "Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody x x x."
Marnie is the second of child of Allen and her husband, British businessman Sam Cooper, who welcomed their first daughter Ethel Mary in 2011.
Over the summer, Allen said she was back in the studio working with producer Greg Kurtsin on new material, her first since 2009's It's Not Me, It's You. "It's great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music," Allen said at the time. "I'm excited to be heading back into the studio."
