Following a dispute with her record label, M.I.A. has threatened to release her new album ahead of schedule. Matangi, M.I.A.'s fourth studio album, was due for release sometime in the fall, but no official date had been set. After the singer posted her frustrations with Interscope on Twitter – saying she could release the album next week and have a new one completed by the time Interscope is ready to release Matangi – the label announced this morning that it would put out the new album on November 5th.
"It's not easy, it's not easy. I keep finishing it and handing it in, finishing it and handing it in," M.I.A. said earlier this summer.
Matangi was due out late last year, but the singer said that the label wasn't convinced by the project. M.I.A. released "Bring the Noize" earlier this summer, and is set to release a documentary that features appearances by Kanye West, Spike Jonze and Switch, but that project has also faced some problems. The film was pulled by Roc Nation in July, prompting director Steve Loveridge to quit the project after leaking the teaser trailer.M.I.A. Threatens to Leak New Album
