Martina McBride to serenade Robin Roberts on 'GMA'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Country star Martina McBride will appear on "Good Morning America" in support of her friend Robin Roberts.

McBride will visit with the "GMA" host and sing her Grammy-nominated song "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" during the 8 a.m. hour Thursday.

Roberts announced this week that Friday will be her last day before starting an extended medical leave for treatment of MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease once called preleukemia. She will undergo a bone marrow transplant.

She appeared in McBride's video for "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" last year along with cancer survivors and Hoda Kotb, Katie Couric and Sheryl Crow.

A news release says the singer also will announce a new partnership to help raise breast cancer awareness.
