Morrissey Diagnosed With Bleeding Ulcer

Morrissey has been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, prompting the singer to call off six dates on his current tour. The tour is expected to resume February 9th in Las Vegas, and a statement from his publicist says that Morrissey hopes to rescheduled shows planned for Asheville, North Carolina; Nashville; Atlanta; Lawrence, Kansas; Clear Lake, Iowa; and Lincoln, Nebraska.

Morrissey Rep: 'The Smiths Are Never Going to Reunite'

The often-acerbic singer was hospitalized over the weekend in Royal Oak, Michigan, with a suspected bladder infection. He had nixed three shows last week, citing a "band member illness." Morrissey had recently continued a U.S. tour he postponed last October to be with his mother, who had been hospitalized in England.

He's expected to make a full recovery, according to the statement, which also read, "Morrissey apologizes greatly for any and all inconvenience and looks forward to continuing his U.S. tour."
