The semi-serious war of words between Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and Justin Bieber has heated up on Twitter, with countless fans of the pop star directing their white-hot outrage at Carney via tweet.

To recap, this mini-nano-controversy began when a TMZ reporter cornered Carney after the Grammys and asked the drummer, for reasons that remain unclear, about Bieber's exclusion from the awards. Carney's response: "I dunno, he's rich, right? Grammys are for, like, music, not for money. . . . He's making a lot of money. He should be happy."

Bieber promptly struck back on Twitter: "the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha." His legions of ardent fans took this as their cue to attack Carney with zillions of enraged tweets.
