Ryan Adams Covers Iron Maiden for 'Californication' – Song Premiere

Click to listen to Ryan Adams' 'Wasted Years'

Showtime's Californication will return on January 13th, and on the 15th you'll be able to grab a new compilation of songs slated to appear throughout the show's upcoming sixth season. Star David Duchovny recently told Rolling Stone that his character Hank will have "more of a rock & roll year," and the soundtrack certainly reflects that with artist like Lissie and Marilyn Manson covering songs by Metallica and David Bowie, respectively. Now you can check out Ryan Adams' not necessarily rocking, but no less chilling contribution, a cover of Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" that finds the alt-country hero plucking an acoustic guitar, giving the metal overlords' track a somber, unplugged makeover.
