Skrillex to Score Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers'

Skrillex has been tapped to score Harmony Korine's upcoming film Spring Breakers. The wub-wub wunderkind will provide original music for the film, which stars James Franco as "Alien," a rapper inspired by real-life artist Riff Raff, along with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Gucci Mane.

"I think this film is going to turn a lot of heads in many ways. It was a lot of fun to work with Harmony because he gave me the freedom and trust to do whatever I wanted," said Skrillex in a statement. "Scoring to film is definitely a different approach to music making in the sense that it's not so much about how the music sounds by itself as it is finding ways to compliment the vibe of the film."

Spring Breakers tells the story of four college students who encounter Alien on their quest for a most excellent spring break. It is set to premiere in 2013.
