The Spice Girls are set to perform at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics on August 12th, a source has confirmed to Us Weekly.
Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton), Sporty (Melanie Chisholm), Scary (Melanie Brown) and Posh (Victoria Beckham) are all expected to hit the stage, where they will reportedly perform two singles, including the 1996 hit "Wannabe."
The Spice Girls will join an already-stacked closing ceremony lineup that includes the Who, George Michael and Jessie J. That same night, Blur will headline a show – also part of the grand finale – at London's Hyde Park along with New Order and the Specials.
The Olympics news comes one month after the Spice Girls briefly reunited to help announce Viva Forever!, an upcoming musical based on the group's songs. The show was conceived by Judy Craymer, who produced Mamma Mia!, and written by comedian Jennifer Saunders. Viva Forever! is set to open at London's Piccadilly Theatre on December 11th, while previews start November 27th.
