    Springsteen guitarist anticipates emotional shows

NEW YORK (AP) — Bruce Springsteen guitarist Steve Van Zandt says touring without saxophonist Clarence Clemons is sure to be emotional for the E Street Band and its audience.

Clemons died at age 69 last year after a stroke. Van Zandt said Thursday that the band's work will always be a tribute to Clemons and keyboard player Danny Federici, who died in 2008. Springsteen and the E Street Band begin a long tour next month.

Despite the emotion, Van Zandt says band members have to ask themselves whether their colleagues would have wanted them to carry on with the work. The guitarist said: "I think the answer's yes."

Besides the music, Van Zandt is promoting "Lilyhammer," Netflix Inc.'s first original series. It is set in Norway and begins streaming Feb. 6 on Netflix.

Lot's of love...Clarence Clemmons was an all time great!! "A Man in Love" one of my favorite songs...Hopefully, they will showcase some strong musician who has paid his dues, and not recieved the gratitude of a life served loving their art...There are many out there who could touch gratefully the hands of the musicians, as well as the hearts of the audience. carry On Indeed Boys, this is what life is all about.

Van Zandt is a d*** good guitarist, background singer and proven Actor. He's a major part of the success of Bruce and the E Street band. Should be a great tour!

Will be tough to fill Clarence's position, but impossible to take his place.

Gonna be tough w/o him. He was sitting down a lot when I saw them in 2009...but he wailed as always. He was older than the most of the band I think.

The writer heard Van Zandt's interview on the Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM

Clarence's spot will be hard to fill. But eventually they will need to fill it because so many of the songs were written with sax in the mix. And I'll have to mention Nils Lofgren. What a great artist. Solid player with a decent voice. He doesn't get enough publicity unless that's what he wants

Thats nothing. When the prison band did our first gig without Elmo, our harmonica player, the outpouring of emotion was unfathomable. Murderers, rapists, con men, jaywalkers all cryin like babies. Elmo left the band by lethal injection.

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul,"Forever" is better than ANY Springteen song! Steve Van Zandt has soul and depth .The Lyrics "If I give you my heart would you love me forever
Would you pick up the pieces if I stumble and fall
If my world falls apart could you keep it together
If I can't have you I don't want no one at all

Yo Steven ... heard you on Stern; if we could get Stern to shut his cake hole it would have been a great interview. As it turned out it was another Stern failure to know when to listen as he did with Waters in that interview. Stern should just interview himself and have his group of stooges stand and applaud when he farts.

Both those interviews Howard did were great...you're obviously an idiot. Too bad for you.

Takes one to know one. I call it bad when it's bad ... call it great when it's great ... He ruined the Waters interview and if you do not agree it is your choice. Go back and see how many times Waters asked Howard to be quiet or to listen to the story ditto with little Steven. It's my opinion and you have yours so I can only guess why you resort to insults seeing as you try to portrait yourself as intelligent.

I wonder if it has crossed their minds to hire a new saxophonist and organist, the way other bands do when they lose members? I wouldn't want to hear "Born to Run" without a sax.

Where did it say that they had not? Were you born stupid or do you work on it every day?
