Though David Lee Roth recently vented to Rolling Stone about the lack of movement on new material and expanded touring with Van Halen, he now appears to be getting his wish: he says the rockers will tour the U.K. and Europe starting at the end of the year. Speaking on Opie and Anthony, Roth revealed Van Halen will play "probably 50, 60 shows" on the European leg. "Van Halen is very pure and uncut kind of music. It's lead, bass, drums and howling at the moon. It's a little like getting drunk on shots of really good Kentucky bourbon," he said. "You'll have a great night, but you probably won't want to see us again for three years."

It's been a while since Van Halen has journeyed across the Atlantic. They last visited Europe in 1998 with a handful of appearances in Finland and Germany with singer Gary Cherone of Extreme. Van Halen last toured the U.K. in 1995 with Sammy Hagar, and their last trip there with Roth was the Monsters of Rock tour of 1984. They canceled their U.S. tour last summer amid rumors of turmoil, but Roth and Eddie Van Halen pointed to other reasons, like an overambitious tour schedule.
