Weekend Rock Question: Who Should Play Next Year's Super Bowl Halftime?

This weekend Madonna will join the ranks of an elite group of superstars including Michael Jackson, U2, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Diana Ross and Tom Petty who have performed at the Super Bowl halftime show.

While many of the biggest names in music have played the show over the past two decades, there are still some major stars – including Eminem, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Van Halen and Pearl Jam – who have yet to do it. Our question for you is: Who should play the Super Bowl halftime show next year?

Dr. John, the Neville Brothers, Rebirth Brass Band and Mardi Gras Indians! Make it NOLA-style!

My favorite was Clint Black so I say no more rock acts bring in Hank Jr or someone like that.

Since the SB will be in New Orleans it should showcase our bevy of talent only. Dr. John Trombone Shorty,Rebirth Brass Band, Kermit Ruffins, Harry Connick Jr, Neville Brothers and all of the Marsallis Family ( Ellis, Wynton ,Branford , Delfeayo and Jason). I don't care what the ignoramuses who comment on this board think. They need a severe musical education. None of the turds mentioned in the article should even be allowed to play in our great musical city! That's right, I'm a music snob and New Orleans is my city. And if the Saints play descent D , we'll win Lombardi #2. Who Dat! Now bring on the haters.

Queen w/ Adam Lambert. Through the years, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" have been played at countless sporting events, yet never done live by the band at any of them.

How about they go back to the days of marching bands? I'm tired of this crap.

Not one bit. I may only be 40, but I do remember those bands being one hell of a spectacle. I'd much rather see some college/high school kids who came to play than anyone who came just for the money and to boost album sales.

Thank goodness for Madonna this year but for next year...Lady GaGa!, or Metallica, or Rob Zombie, or Marilyn Manson, or Duran Duran. The only way I'd really watch the half times and even Super Bowl because football is just over rated. Look at the types of morons that get way into this sport.

Nickelback would be awesome! Too bad they didn't get the gig this year instead of that stupid Lions game on Thanksgiving in Detroit! Madonna should have done that game instead!

I would say KISS mostly because the establishment would veto my true #1 choice RUSH, if no Super Bowl show, at least put them in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, finely
