(5/4/98) - Several country singers donated their time for a tornado relief fund-raiser at Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe April 30th. Mark Wills, Wynonna, Kathy Mattea and Terri Clark, as well as several local TV personalities, waited tables during the dinner hour, with the Hard Rock donating proceeds to tornado relief. Some diners were taken aback by a celebrity unexpectedly appearing at their table saying, "Hi, my name is Wynonna, I'll be your server this evening." For some of the artists, it brought back memories of the days before they hit it big, when waiting tables paid the rent. For others, like Wills, it was a humbling experience for another reason: the singer first started earning a living as a musician as a teenager, and frankly, waiting tables was never necessary. "I've never done this before!" a befuddled Wills confessed while shuttling drinks from the bar to a table of customers. Well, Mark, as they say in the business: don't quit your day job!
