Ginuwine On How He Brought Dancing Back Into The Fold

(6/26/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- R&B singer Ginuwine recently released a second single, "Differences," from his gold-certified third album, The Life. LAUNCH recently spoke with Ginuwine, who felt that he helped to bring dancing back to stage performances by R&B singers.
"I like to believe that I, you know, brung back a lot of the dancing that's going on right now, you know? When I first came out, wasn't nobody dancing, wasn't nobody opening their shirt," he said. "Everybody was scared to that. Everybody thought it was corny. Everybody thought it was, like, 'Oh, you too cool to do that.' Everybody was just walking back and forth, but when I did, all of a sudden you saw a whole bunch of people doing it, and you know I take credit for a lot of that. Because when me, and Timbaland, and Missy, and us came out, we came out totally different anyway, so why not try to bring the whole package and make people follow, and that they did."
