Orgy To 'Vapor'-ize The Road
11/09/2000 4:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(11/9/00, 4 p.m. ET) - Orgy will hit the road for several dates in support of its second album, Vapor Transmission. The band has 16 gigs currently scheduled, beginning in Phoenix on November 13 and ending in St. Louis on December 11.
Several of the shows are radio festivals, while the first four dates will also feature Crazytown, longtime friends of Orgy from their earlier days in the Los Angeles club scene.
The trek marks the first substantial string of dates by the band in support of Vapor Transmission, which arrived from Reprise Records on October 10.
In recent months, Orgy shows have been sporadic. Frontman Jay Gordon recalls a recent performance in San Diego, California, one of the band's first after a long layoff. "It was very interesting. It was a really good show. I couldn't even believe it," he says. "I thought for sure everything was gonna choke, so we were watching, like, 'Don't fall, watch the mic chords, like watch the pedal boards,' you know. Feeling rusty, had to break out the 3-in-1 oil."
