Wyclef Showcases New Music In New York

(9/18/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean performed several songs from his forthcoming fourth solo album, Preacher's Son, on Tuesday (September 16), at New York's Millennium Hotel. On hand for the performance were Don King, Donald Trump, Julius Erving, Tyson Beckford, and Kevin Bacon.
When Wyclef hit the stage, he was joined by Patti LaBelle for their duet "Celebrate" and Sharissa for "As I Am." Later, reggae stars Wayne Wonder and Elephant Man joined Wyclef for "I Am Your Doctor." The evening was capped off by a performance of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry" by Wyclef and Buju Banton.
Preacher's Son, which will be released on October 28, is Wyclef's first offering on J Records. He recorded three solo and two group sets while signed to Columbia Records.
Preacher's Son will feature guest appearances by Patti LaBelle, Sharissa, Carlos Santana, Redman, Missy Elliott, and Cassidy. The first single from the set is "Industry."
