(1/31/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- A Bob Marley tribute is part of MTV2's Reggae Weekend, which kicks off Saturday (February 1) in honor of Black History Month. The channel will feature videos from Marley and other top artists in the genre, with reggae artist Sean Paul hosting. Viewers will also be treated to clips from No Doubt, Sugar Ray, the Police, and other rockers inspired by Jamaica's most famous musical export.
In addition, the channel will air videos by Foxy Brown, Busta Rhymes, the Fugees, and other hip-hop artists down with reggae. Plus, dancehall's growing popularity will be explored via clips by Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, and Beenie Man. The salute to the late Marley and his lasting influence on the music will also serve as a celebration of Marley's February 6 birthday.
