(10/2/98, 12 p.m. PDT) - Dave Davies, the legendary founder and lead guitarist for the seminal rock band the Kinks, is currently touring the West Coast to promote his new CD Unfinished Business, a limited-edition release available only at the shows or on Dave Davies' official website, www.davedavies.com. Davies will be backed by a four-piece Los Angeles-based band.

"I'll be trying out songs I haven't performed before, some newly-written songs, and some of the Kinks standards," Davies recently said of the tour. His setlists on previous solo tours have included Kinks such classics as "All Day And All Of the Night" and "I Need You," as well as rarely-heard gems like "Creepin' Jean" and "Young And Innocent Days."

In related Dave Davies news, on Feb. 23 of next year Velvel Records will release a Dave Davies two-disc anthology containing many of his and the Kinks' greatest songs recorded over the last 35 years. The European version, released by Castle Communications, will contain unreleased and rare tracks, including a demo by the Ravens (the original name of the Kinks), and a number of songs off of Davies' album, Chosen People, which has never been released on CD.

Velvel is currently in the middle of a Kinks reissue campaign; so far, the label has re-released 1971's Muswell Hillbillies, 1972's Everybody's In Showbiz, 1973's Preservation Act 1 and 1974's Preservation Act 2.
