Water And Nobacon Don't Mix

(2/12/98) - Chumbawamba singer Danbert Nobacon's drenching of British Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and his wife at Monday night's Brit Awards won't result in charges.

Nobacon's water-throwing was accompanied by a yell of, "That's for the Liverpool dockers," a reference to a labor dispute over the firing of striking dockworkers, which is the subject of Chumbawamba's song "Leader Of The Union." Nobacon was arrested by Scotland Yard after the incident, but was subsequently released without being charged.

Nobacon's stunt occurred during a Brit Awards set by Fleetwood Mac.
