Bloodhound Gang Grounded In Boise
12/05/2000 6:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(12/5/00, 6 p.m. ET) - The Bloodhound Gang has decided not to play their December 11 show in Boise, Idaho at the Doubletree Riverside Ballroom after an area promoter felt some heat from Boise police. The cops pressured Bravo Entertainment LLP to have the band refrain from certain acts, citing they were in violation of local laws. Bravo then asked the Bloodhound Gang to tone it down, and the band flat out said, "No."
According a Bloodhound Gang spokesperson, the band decided to cancel the December 11 date rather than conform to the community's conservative standards by compromising their integrity and level of entertainment in their live shows.
Police in Boise responded to the following complaints in other cities:
November 12 - Iowa City, IA - Band paid a patron to eat 20 Big Macs, drink half & half, and vomit.
November 13 - Fargo, ND - Band encouraged a patron to expose his genitals; patron was subsequently arrested for indecent exposure.
November 14 - Sioux Falls, SD - Band encouraged and/or paid patrons to
urinate on the stage; paid patron to vomit on stage after eating Big Macs.
November 15 - Madison, WI - Band encouraged or paid a person to get naked on the balcony.
November 16 - Columbus, OH - Band paid a patron to defecate in his pants on stage.
November 25 - Lancaster, PA - Band paid a patron to urinate in his pants on stage.
Refunds for the canceled Boise show are available at the point of purchase.
