Sparklehorse Rounds Up Waits And Harvey

(4/19/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Tom Waits and Polly Jean Harvey are set to guest on the next album from Virginia alt-rock band, Sparklehorse, the band's official email newsletter reports. Waits recorded with the group earlier this month in California. According to a source close to the band, he had originally intended on making a cameo on Sparklehorse's last album, Good Morning Spider, but had to bow out due to scheduling difficulties. There is no release date nor album title yet for what will be Sparklehorse's third album. The project is being produced by Dave Fridman, who has also worked with the Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, and Luna.

Meanwhile, Waits has also recently finished producing an album by blues artist John Hammond. The yet-to-be-named album is tentatively planned for a fall release on the Virgin Records imprint, Point Blank.
