(8/24/99, 1 a.m. PDT) - The resurrected Bauhaus is planning to follow-up its recent tour and greatest-hits album, Crackle, with a live album titled Gotham, and a live video release of the same name.

As previously reported, the album will feature two newly recorded songs for the album, as well as live material culled from Bauhaus's Resurrection tour, and will be released in the U.S. on Nov. 9 via Metropolis Records. The band's official website (www.bauhausmusik.com) promises to accept pre-orders for the albums in the coming weeks.

Not too long ago, Bauhaus/ former Love & Rockets guitarist Daniel Ash, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, told LAUNCH exactly why the band got back together for a tour and to record new material: "As what always happens with bands when they get successful, they all sort of go off on one, blow all your money, realize your solo stuff's not selling and you can't make a living, then the band gets back together. It's written in rock 'n' roll...it's sort of a rock 'n' roll clichéd story. It happens to everybody." Ash's post-Bauhaus outfit, Love & Rockets, broke up in April (LAUNCH, 4/29).

In related news, Ash's Bauhaus/ Love & Rockets mates David J and Kevin Haskins will be touring the U.S. briefly with the Jazz Butcher. Also hailing from Bauhaus's native Northampton, England, the Jazz Butcher counted J and Haskins in its ranks for a short period, and both have played with the band on many occasions.

Dates for the Jazz Butcher include:

9/9 - Troubadour, Los Angeles
9/11 - The Great American Music Hall, San Francisco
9/13 - Pan, Portland, Ore.
9/15 - Crocodile Café, Seattle
9/23 - Wetlands, New York

Features on Bauhaus and Love & Rockets are available on LAUNCH.com.
