XTC To TVT

(7/14/98) - As we first reported last month (myLAUNCH, 6/24), veteran British pop act XTC will soon release an album of new material in America for the first time in seven years. On Monday, New York-based TVT Records confirmed that it has pacted with the band to release the new LP in North America.

The album, which will be released in early 1999, is the trio's first new studio effort since 1992's Nonsuch, and its first release since splitting with Geffen in the U.S. and Virgin Records in the U.K. after a bitter legal battle.

The forthcoming album will be produced by Hayden Bendel and will feature the percussive talents of ex-Tubes member Prairie Prince, who also played drums on XTC's landmark 1986 album Skylarking.
