(7/8/98) - Goths around the globe this weekend should be squealing in glee--or whatever passes for glee in their world of darkness--as the much-anticipated Bauhaus reunion kicks off on Friday at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

The nationwide reunion tour will mark the first time in 15 years that the seminal Gothic-rock band has performed together. Singer Peter Murphy split in 1983 to pursue a solo career while the remainder of the band--Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins--went on to form '80s alterna-favorites Love And Rockets, among other projects.

Drummer Haskins admits that sitting down for a Bauhaus rehearsal again was "a little strange," but adds that the old dark feeling kicked right back in again. Aside from an occasional rendition of "Slice Of Life" at Love And Rockets' shows, Haskins claims he hasn't touched any songs from the Bauhaus catalog since the band broke up. However, "they do come back to you rather quickly," he tells myLAUNCH with a laugh.

Here's a quick preview of what's in store for those lucky enough to catch the reunion trek. Haskins hints that the band will do a rendition of his personal fave Bauhaus ballad, "All We Ever Wanted." He also says that the band will not perform the rather speedy "Dark Entries," claiming "It just didn't feel right." But don't worry, they're not washed-up yet: "We'll be doing plenty of fast ones," Haskins quips.

In related news, Ash, J and Haskins are still very much together as Love And Rockets, and they have new album, the techno-heavy Lift, conveniently coming out on Red Ant Entertainment this September. The album features vocal work by members of Luscious Jackson and will spawn club remixes by Deep Dish, DJ Keoki, KMFDM and others.

Look for a full Bauhaus feature coming soon to myLAUNCH.
