Dru Hill, Mary Mary, Jaheim & Kelly Price Sing Gospel Praises

(2/17/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- The 3rd Annual BET Celebration Of Gospel special is scheduled to air on Tuesday (February 18) at 9 p.m. ET. The show, taped on January 31, features a gathering of some of today's biggest R&B and gospel stars.
This year's Celebration Of Gospel includes performances by Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child, Kelly Price, BeBe Winans, Jaheim, Mary Mary, Bishop T.D. Jakes & the Potter House Choir, Dru Hill, Brent Jones & T.P. Mobb, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Smokie Norful, Stephanie Mills, the Hawkins Family, Karen Clark Sheard, and Dr. Bobby Jones.
The show is hosted by comedian Steve Harvey and also features special appearances by Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, and Donnie McClurkin.
The show's highlights include a performance of "When The Saints Go Marching In" by Kelly Price and BeBe Winans, "Jesus On The Mainline" by Jaheim and Mary Mary, and "Everything" by Michelle Williams.
BET president and chief operating officer Debra Lee shared that Celebration Of Gospel has become one of the anchors of the network's Black History Month programming. "Gospel music is a big part of African-American culture and it is important that we celebrate it," Lee said. "Black History Month is an ideal opportunity to highlight our contributions, and Celebration Of Gospel--one of BET's signature specials--has proven a huge success since its inception. That's why we were anxious to bring it back this year as one of the anchors to the network's extensive Black History Month slate."
