Buckcherry's New 'Time Bomb' To Explode In 2001

(12/21/00, 6 p.m. ET) - Buckcherry is following up its self-titled debut album with Time Bomb, which is due out on DreamWorks Records March 27. The new songs were inspired by band members' recent experiences and include "Porno Star, " "Whiskey In The Morning," "Ridin'," "Helpless," and "Underneath."
Guitarist Keith Nelson tells LAUNCH the band's straight-ahead, guitar-driven style is traditional, not trendy. "The thing about it is that coming up doing what we're doing, there really wasn't anyone blazing the trail for us. There's not a scene to gravitate towards. I think we definitely have to work harder to overcome that stuff, because it's really not the flavor of the month."
One of their more poignant songs is "Whiskey In The Morning," which chronicles the real-life struggles of singer Joshua Todd. "'Whiskey In The Morning' is about alcoholism, which I've battled for a long time," said Todd. "I used to have that morning drink every day. The worst, most destructive drug is legal. The lyrics are simply about finding stuff that moves me."
Buckcherry will introduce the new songs to a new audience next year as they embark on a tour with Kid Rock and Fuel starting January 17 in Greenville, North Carolina.
