The Band Sails Up The River

(3/12/98) - The Band have traded their "Cripple Creek" for a River North--Nashville-based River North Records, that is. The label, a subsidiary of Platinum Entertainment, has signed the '70s rock stalwarts, including original members Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson, to an exclusive recording contract, according to a March 11th announcement. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers are said to be at work on their 10th studio album with producer Aaron Hurwitz. No release date for the project has been announced.

Other artists on the River North roster include Peter Cetera, Crystal Bernard, Kansas , Dionne Warwick and Christian artist Tammy Trent .
