The Offspring To Use 'Chinese Democracy' After All?

(4/2/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- There's been various rumors flying around about the title of the new Offspring album, but it appears the band is planning to use the name Chinese Democracy.
This is in spite of the fact that Guns N' Roses has already said they are using that name for their long-awaited release. "You snooze, you lose," vocalist Dexter Holland said on the Offspring's website. "Axl Rose ripped off my braids, so I ripped off his album title."
Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy still hasn't been released. It's been nearly eight years in the making. Calls to the Offspring's publicist and management to confirm the title were not returned at press time. Representatives of Guns N' Roses, who reportedly filed a cease-and-desist order against the Offspring for use of Chinese Democracy, were also unavailable for comment.
The band is in the studio with Brendan O'Brien, who produced the band's last album, Conspiracy Of One. The new collection is due this summer.
