Radiohead Not Happy With Album Leak

(4/4/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Tracks from Radiohead's forthcoming album Hail To The Thief have ended up on the Internet, and the band is not pleased. At first when news of the leak surfaced, guitarist Jonny Greenwood was amused, but when he learned that the tracks were from an early stage of recording, he was "pissed off."

"We're annoyed--the songs are good on the recordings, which you can hear, but we worked on them after this point until we were happy with them," Greenwood wrote in a post on the band's website. "This is why we're pissed off--we didn't give up on them in February (which is what you're hearing) and it's just a shame that, to your ears, we did."

A similar problem plagued Audioslave when premature, unfinished tunes from its self-titled album were released. Despite the anger of Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello, fans still came out in droves for the album, which has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of one million copies.

Radiohead's Hail To The Thief is set for a June 10 release, and the first single from the collection is "There There."
