(5/21/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- 3 Doors Down wraps up its tour with opening act Theory Of A Deadman on Friday (May 23), and the band is itching to return to the studio. The band has a month break before returning to the road, and vocalist/songwriter Brad Arnold said that after a week of vacation time, the band will reconvene to record some acoustic songs and start work on new material.
Arnold said that the band will start with acoustic versions of songs from Away From The Sun, but he didn't know how they'd be released. "I think the acoustic tracks we're going to record are actually songs that are on Away From The Sun,” Arnold said. “I think we'll probably do the song 'Away From The Sun,' 'The Road I'm On,' 'Here Without You,' and maybe a couple of more. As far as where to hear those, I'm not real positive actually what we'll do with those when we get 'em done. Maybe they'll be on an EP or at the very least I'm sure they'll be on the Internet (laughs)."
3 Doors Down, which returned from Europe earlier this year, has decided not to go back this year. The band's next touring leg will start July 5 with Our Lady Peace.
