(4/11/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" has seen renewed interest in recent months thanks to a hit cover version by the Dixie Chicks on their latest album, Home. Fleetwood Mac singer-guitarist Lindsey Buckingham said that while he appreciates their effort, he's not a huge fan of the Chicks' rendition.
"I enjoyed it. It's not my taste, but I thought it was good," Buckingham said. "I mean, they're great players and everything, and I was very happy for Stevie [Nicks] that that had happened but, you know, that's not really my thing."
"Landslide" first appeared on the Fleetwood Mac album in 1976, which was Buckingham and Nicks's first with the band.
"Landslide" was not released as a single in 1976, but an acoustic rendition of the song by Buckingham and Nicks--from the 1997 Fleetwood Mac live album, The Dance--reached Number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fleetwood Mac's new album, Say You Will, comes out Tuesday (April 15).
The group launches a North American tour on May 7 in Columbus, Ohio.
