(4/2/01, 4 p.m. ET) -- Pantera is set to hit the road this summer with Static-X, Skrape, Slayer, and Morbid Angel for the Extreme Steel tour, which starts June 20 in New Haven, Connecticut and runs through July 26 in Vancouver. The band is also scheduled to hit Alaska, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia in May. Corrosion Of Conformity opens for Pantera starting May 9 in Auckland, New Zealand and ending May 20 in Perth, Australia.
Static-X got close to the Pantera guys on last year's OzzFest tour, and the band's Wayne Static told LAUNCH, "They were an inspiration to me in my younger years and turned out to be nice guys. Those guys did a lot of shenanigans backstage. I remember one time there was a guy who had an artificial leg, and they wouldn't let the guy back, but they had security bring his leg back and they, like, filled it up with beer and signed it, then gave it back to him. That's like a typical kind of Pantera thing."
