(2/10/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Tonic will join bands paying tribute to late School Of Fish singer/guitarist Josh Clayton-Felt tonight (Feb. 10), at the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles. Other acts participating in the tribute/benefit include Dishwalla , Jeremy Toback, and The Wallflowers guitarist Michael Ward. All proceeds will go to Rock For Hope, which is affiliated with the City Of Hope organization.

This is the second public memorial for Clayton-Felt. A few weeks ago, family, friends, and fans gathered at a Los Angeles area studio to give a listen to an unreleased album by the songsmith. In addition, an impromptu memorial has emerged on the Internet at www.joshclayton.com, a site where fans have posted their thoughts about the artist ever since word of his death was announced; Clayton-Felt died from testicular cancer at age 32 on Jan. 19. His cancer was first diagnosed in December, but it had already spread to his spine and doctors were unable to halt the disease.

In other Tonic news, the band has landed the opening slot on the Third Eye Blind tour. During the tour, Tonic will also play a few one-off shows: March 9 in New York and March 25 in Baton Rouge, La. Even though only a few tour dates have been announced, guitarist Jeff Russo tells LAUNCH they'll play everywhere they're wanted. "I'm sure we'll probably try and tour for as long as we can," he says. "We're going to try and get to a lot of places that we didn't get to on the last record, like the Far East, and concentrate a little more on Europe, too, I think. But we're going to be touring the country a bunch of times again because we love to do it."
