(11/26/99, 12 p.m. ET) - Keyboardist Bob James's classic hit "Angela (Theme From Taxi)" is among the tunes included on the brand-new soundtrack to the upcoming film Man On The Moon, starring Jim Carrey. The film chronicles the life of comedian Andy Kaufman, who was one of the stars of the now-classic late-1970s/early-1980s sitcom Taxi. James's theme song is still a huge smooth jazz hit, and he says he's proud that it's his best-known song. "If there's going to be one tune associated with me throughout my career, it's going to be that one, for all kinds of reasons," he tells LAUNCH. "And I know that there always seems to be one tune with any performer that people associate them with, and in this case, if that is going to be mine, I'm very happy that it turned out to be a really simple, straightforward kind of tune that I still enjoy playing. "I usually have to play it just about every time I perform live, and it's fun to do," he adds. "I haven't really grown tired of it; so, in that sense, I'm happy that it didn't turn out to be some novelty type thing that I would cringe every time I would have to perform it." The Man On The Moon soundtrack, which also includes score music by R.E.M., is out now, and the film opens Dec. 22.
