(12/26/97) - Move over, Pat Boone. Or perhaps it's move over, Bob Marley.

Page Morton Black, a lady of a certain age best known as the voice of the "Chock Full O' Nuts" commercials a generation ago, has issued a new album of adult standards reworked with reggae rhythms.

Page One, independently released on Den Records, covers such standards as "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," "My Foolish Heart" and "If The World Should End Tomorrow" backed by riddims of the islands. It's a project that recalls Pat Boone's efforts earlier this year to marry heavy metal with big-band swing. Given this trend, perhaps we can soon look for a Best Of Techno album from Herb Alpert...
