Rappers Wrapping

(12/26/97) - Ice-T, Kurtis Blow and Coolio were among stars expected to be on hand to rap and wrap gifts at the L.A. nightclub Billboard Live the night of December 23rd.

An annual event sponsored by local radio station Power 106 and 25th Precinct Records, the evening kicked off two days of deliveries of holiday turkeys and several thousand gifts donated to needy people in Los Angeles.

Among the many artists making donations to the event were Alanis Morissette, Aerosmith, Eddie Murphy, Hootie & the Blowfish, Yo Yo, Bon Jovi, Westside Connection's Mack 10 and W.C., Alice Cooper and Alice In Chains.

Network television show memorabilia, autographed Dodgers baseballs and Los Angeles Clippers tickets were among items scheduled to be auctioned off to raise money for various charities.
