David Coverdale Returns To The Stage

(12/15/00, 12 p.m. ET) - David Coverdale was set to join a star-studded lineup at a Los Angeles radio station's Christmas extravaganza this morning (December 15), marking the first North American performance by the former member of Whitesnake and Deep Purple in more than 10 years. Backing Coverdale during his three-song set will be the band Dragonfire and Tesla drummer Troy Luccektta.
Coverdale makes this rare U.S. appearance in support of his just released solo album, Into The Light. The new collection features the song " Slave," which currently resides at Number 35 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
Other acts on the morning's concert bill include Great White, Rick Springfield, and Randy Travis. The concert wass held at L.A.'s Wiltern Theatre.
