(8/1/00, 6 p.m. ET) - Sisqo has signed a developmental deal with Big Ticket Television, home of Moesha, Judge Judy, and The Parkers. The company, which is owned by Viacom, will develop a sitcom for the Dru Hill member.
A pilot deal for the show is expected by the fall of 2001. Larry Lyttle, president of Big Ticket, felt after one meeting with Sisqo that the Baltimore singer had the potential to become a superstar.
Sisqo has already appeared hawking Pepsi and McDonald's products, and has had his own show on MTV, Sisqo's Showdown. He will also be appearing in the motion picture Getting Over Allison.
Sisqo's debut album, 1999's Unleash The Dragon, spawned the hit single "Thong Song" and has sold more than 3.5 million copies, according to industry sources.
