(8/1/00, 12 p.m. ET) - Fastball is set to release The Harsh Light Of Day, its follow-up to All The Pain Money Can Buy, on September 19. LAUNCH asked Fastball co-writer/guitarist Miles Zuniga if he thought about road-testing some of the material that is scheduled to appear on the new album.

"No, I didn't want to do that with my songs because I thought for sure somebody would bootleg it and then throw it up on the Net and then everybody would have it," he replied. "That wouldn't bother me so much except that they would have something that is still evolving, and I hate when people compare. You have a hard enough time realizing your vision without people kibitzing along the way, going, 'You know, I liked it better when you used to say 'Onion' there,' or 'I liked it better when you had that big bridge part that went nowhere,' you know?"

The first single from The Harsh Light Of Day will be "You're An Ocean," and the video will be directed by Mark Kohr. The song arrives at radio today (August 1).
