(3/24/99, 1 p.m. PST) - PAX, a non-profit group devoted to ending gun violence, will celebrate its one-year anniversary and raise money at a star-studded event March 27 at Roseland Ballroom in New York.

Music of the evening will be provided by Better Than Ezra, Blackalicious, various New York DJs, and a surprise platinum-selling modern rock act that wishes to remain anonymous. KRS-One, Foxy Brown, and Dave Matthews have been asked to perform and are said to be seriously considering the offer. Expected to be on hand are honorary chairs William Baldwin, Mandy Patinkin, and Laurence Fishburne.

Better Than Ezra donated a portion of ticket proceeds from its last U.S. tour to the PAX cause. Guitarist Kevin Griffin told LAUNCH last fall, "Doing something is the only way to instigate change, and change is needed in a world where there are more regulations on teddy bears than guns. This is a place to start and the least we can do" (LAUNCH, 10/16/98).

Tickets for the gala are available for $60 and VIP tickets run $300. They can be purchased at 212-803-5490 or at www.paxusa.org.

Features on Better Than Ezra, KRS-One, and Foxy Brown are available now on LAUNCH.com.
