Badly Drawn Boy Nabs Joan Collins To Star In Video

(3/28/01, 5 p.m. ET) -- Badly Drawn Boy, otherwise known as Damon Gough, has recruited actress Joan Collins for the video of "Spitting In The Wind," an updated version of "Pissing In The Wind" from the album The Hour Of Bewilderbeast.
The video was shot in Copenhagen and the concept came from director Garth from Hammer & Tongs. Collins sings the line, "I've been spitting in the wind, I chanced a foolish grin and dribbled on my chin" while in a bathtub. Badly Drawn Boy is also seen bathing and dressing for a party in the clip.
Of the experience, Collins said in a statement, "I wanted to work with Damon because I consider him a very talented young man and I love his music. Doing this video appealed to me because of the strange juxtaposition of our two characters. I loved every minute."
Badly Drawn Boy added, "As soon as Garth explained the concept of the video with Joan Collins, I knew that without her there would be no video, nobody else could have done it. Joan is totally unique and was a pleasure to work with. I hope we become lifelong friends."
